Just replaced the bibs for my two girls after 4.5 years

At the age of 1 and after too many kills I found these bibs and my two girls accepted them immediately. After some 10,000 hours of wandering on acreage in rain, snow, sun, wind, cold and heat it was time to update their mandatory outdoor clothing.
The cats are so used to them that if they do slip outside without their bib they will stop and allow the bib to be placed on them without struggle or complaint. I’d estimate bird predation is down 95+%, now only the slower tiny birds, (wrens, spinebills, fire tails) which have a risky habit of landing almost on our cats are at risk, but they are a very rare victim.
I’d recommend the bibs to any responsible cat owner. They’re durable and don’t stop the cats exploring bushes or climbing trees, jumping up onto sheds, carports, chicken enclosures, running, sneaking or catching field mice, which are a pest and need controlling. And when the cats roll around on the ground the bib doubles as a superman cape when it twists around on the collar, which is cute and funny, before returning back to the correct position when they stand and start walking.

Wow, 41/2 years is pretty good going! I hope the new ones last just as long and keep protecting the birds at yoour place.
Thanks for the review and for sticking with the CatBib to save the birds.

Ninja says a big thank you for enabling him to go outside again!

After our last cat died two years ago, the bird life proliferated and we decided we would keep any future cats inside only. We got an 8 year old rescue cat, Ninja. He was so distressed at not being able to go out, that he need intervention from a vet (sedatives). A year later and he was still distressed. We decided to let him out on our farm but he brought birds (mainly honey eaters) back every other day. It was causing me so much stress.
Decided to try the cat bib. Expected resistance from Ninja but he accepted it immediately. In the weeks since, he's been out a lot every day and has not caught anything, but seems calm and happy. It's been a life saver for us, Ninja, and the birds

Thanks for this excellent review which raises an important issue for many cat owners - whether to let their cat outdoors or keep them as permanently indoor cats. That works fine for many cats but for many more, especially those used to getting outside for at least part of the time, it can be frustrating and stressful. I've heard from many owners whose cats, like Ninja, simply will not tolerate being locked indoors all the time and drive them crazy in their effforts to get outdoors. For these cats the CatBib offers a realistic option to the likely toll on local birds and wildlife - ust like it did for Ninja!
This is exactly the result we're looking for.

Cat Bib Review

Excellent product. Well worth the money. My cat has not caught a bird since using the cat bib. Bells are useless. My kudos to the inventor.

Thanks for the review Suzannne. You're right about bells. The research has shown they reduce predation of birds by 25% to 40% compared to over 80% for CatBibs. The problem is that cats sooon learn to move gently without ringing the bell when they are stalking prey. Glad you had a good result with your CatBib!
