Not perfect but definitely better!

Our 12 month old cat is a killer. I love feeding the native birds but I had to stop when the cat started attacking and killing birds. We have seen a massive decrease in feathers (!) and although kitty did get a pigeon yesterday, the fact that this is the only one in a week is an improvement. I am going to try the bigger bib to see if that makes a difference (did see cat walking around with the bib in its mouth the other day 😂).

Thanks for the 5 stars Deb. Pigeons seem to be fairly easy prey, not the smartest brains amongst the bird brained perhaps but the large sized bib should do the trick - I'll have that in the post to you tomorrow.

Lady Daphne looks great

My ginger ninja, hunter extraordinaire, has been stifled in her recent killing spree. I had coloured scrunchies on her for the same reason but for some reason recently she overcame that, damn it!
Anyway it's been a week and she had adapted beautifully and not killed a single bird.

Thanks Sue-Ellen, good to hear the bib is doing the job. The initial trials of the scrunchie collars in the US looked pretty good but when they were repeated in Australia the results were less compelling - perhaps our Aussie cats are a bit more determined then their Yankee cousins? I think it's more likely because the CatBib provides a physical barrier and gets in the way when the cat pounces rather than just a visual warning and thats why it out performs the scrunchie collars as your ginger ninja has so ably demonstrated!

No regrets

Cat seems unbothered, no carcasses.

Just replaced the bibs for my two girls after 4.5 years

At the age of 1 and after too many kills I found these bibs and my two girls accepted them immediately. After some 10,000 hours of wandering on acreage in rain, snow, sun, wind, cold and heat it was time to update their mandatory outdoor clothing.
The cats are so used to them that if they do slip outside without their bib they will stop and allow the bib to be placed on them without struggle or complaint. I’d estimate bird predation is down 95+%, now only the slower tiny birds, (wrens, spinebills, fire tails) which have a risky habit of landing almost on our cats are at risk, but they are a very rare victim.
I’d recommend the bibs to any responsible cat owner. They’re durable and don’t stop the cats exploring bushes or climbing trees, jumping up onto sheds, carports, chicken enclosures, running, sneaking or catching field mice, which are a pest and need controlling. And when the cats roll around on the ground the bib doubles as a superman cape when it twists around on the collar, which is cute and funny, before returning back to the correct position when they stand and start walking.

Wow, 41/2 years is pretty good going! I hope the new ones last just as long and keep protecting the birds at yoour place.
Thanks for the review and for sticking with the CatBib to save the birds.
